The stores are loaded with cute baby chicks this time of year, and boy does it make me want to bring some more home. When I really look at it though – I know I don’t need more than 4 chickens, and they do grow up so fast.
Being that it is chicken season I thought I would show you guys what we did with our chickens when we moved last summer. We ended up building a reclaimed wood chicken coop for them.Continue Reading

What do you do when everything you own gets moved into your little, bitty house before you are ready for it, before you even have storage areas installed for it?
That’s right – you cry, cry, cry and then you get over it!
Literally, you have to step really tall – to get over it!Continue Reading

I’ve Been Shopping!
Not for shoes, or clothes, or hand bags – but for houses!
Truly, I’ve been watching RMLS for many years now, maybe about 13 years, just hoping for a good price on a house in the country. I bet you couldn’t tell from all my previous posts that I love the country!Continue Reading
My dog Winnie loves to sleep! Her favorite place to sleep is on my daughter’s bed, but she only sleeps there if my daughter is with her. She doesn’t like to be alone!
During the day she sleeps on the chair in the dining room, that way she can be as close to us as possible.Continue Reading
Last month we went out to the woods for a day. It was beautiful outside so we took a drive just to escape the busyness of town. While hiking around we found a hornet nest. My husband took a hunting trip last week to Hells Canyon. Hells Canyon is located in Eastern Oregon by the border of Washington and Idaho. Until the age of 5 my family and I lived on my grandpa’s farm in Forest Grove. We lived up on a hillside near the Forest Grove and Gales Creek boundary. My grandpa was a filbert farmer, who owned a lovely piece of land with a view. The home we lived in was surrounded by filberts, and my grandparents home was below us through the orchard. When I wanted to visit my grandparents my mom would call my grandma to inform her that she was sending me down. Through the orchard I would run to the waiting arms of my grandma.Continue Reading
My girl loves, loves, loves horses!!! She researches anything and everything she can about them. Almost all her free time is spent doing research or watching YouTube videos of western riding.
Last fall I filmed her riding, but I would have to say that I am surprised at how much she has already improved since then. I love this little video though. I love capturing moments in time, so that you can really see the improvements, and remember the event.Continue Reading
May is one of my black and white chickens. She has yellow legs and feet, whereas Wilco has white legs and feet. May is pretty adventurous, she usually climbs to the top of everything. When I go outside she always runs to me for a nice visit.
Unfortunately, May seems to not be able to get totally clean when she takes a dust bath. She had some extra “things” hanging off her back feathers. I did some research on Pinterest and found that this is common, and you can give them a chicken bath if you need too.Continue Reading
